When Jim Moriarty's name was drawn in the reaping, no one thought he'd come back. No one knew him; he'd never made an impression on anyone.

At least, not anyone who was still around to see him off on the train that day.

His score was average, his interview with Caesar wasn't worthy of note, and he was just competent enough during training. He fled the bloodbath when the Games began. The weaker tributes avoided him and the Careers figured they'd get him in their first or second round of hunting.

They were wrong.

Jim Moriarty won his Games.

He still pretends, sometimes, to be average. Just because his Games are over doesn't mean he's stopped playing.
